It was my good fortune to meet with the Attorney from the Attorney Referral Service. I trust I received the best referral. He did a very good job without question.

The Attorney Referral Service of the San Fernando Valley Bar Association

The Attorney Referral Service is sponsored by the San Fernando Valley Bar Association (SFVBA). The SFVBA functions are geographically focused on the San Fernando Valley portion of Los Angeles, and the cities of Burbank, Glendale, San Fernando, and Calabasas.

The SFVBA is Trade Association, a Community Service Organization, and a Supporter of the Courts and Judiciary. SFVBA is the voice of Valley Lawyers and the face of the San Fernando Valley legal community. The main functions and activities include networking, continuing education, and community service and programs for the public through the Attorney Referral Service.

Established in 1948, the SFVBA operates one of the longest-running State bar Certified attorney referral services (state Bar Certification #0006). Our main objective is to connect members of the public who need legal assistance, with an attorney who is experienced in the relevant area of law.

Our attorney referral service is certified by the State Bar of California (#0006) in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties and meets the American Bar Association Standards for Lawyer Referral.

The ARS recruits and maintains a comprehensive membership of over 150 well-established attorneys in the San Fernando portion of Los Angeles. Law professionals listed with the ARS have an average of 25 years of experience and meet our top experience qualifications (which vary depending on the area of law). ARS also ensures attorneys are in good standing with the State Bar, carry professional liability insurance, and are local and accessible.

We are ideally placed to connect members of the community with the best lawyer for their needs.

The ARS Consultant was professional, kind and informative. She referred me to an attorney that treated me as a person not a thing to ring up a bill for.

Join The Attorney Referral Service

The SFVBA’s Attorney Referral Service is a valuable service, one that operates for the direct purpose of referring individuals and businesses in the San Fernando Valley (and adjoining communities) to qualified attorneys. It also pays dividends to the attorneys involved. Many of the cases referred by the ARS earn significant fees for panel attorneys.BY joining ARS, attorneys not only grow their practices but also contribute to the community in a way that is both meaningful and worthwhile.

The ARS is marketed to the public through brochures at Courthouses, Libraries, through community outreach, and, of course, online. The service generates over $1 million in attorney fees each year.

Inquiries from the public are pre-qualified by ARS staff to ensure that the legal problem is one that requires the assistance of an attorney and to be able to match the issue with an attorney who practices in that area of law. Knowing that the inquiries you receive have been qualified in this way facilitates the engagement process.

The attorneys who participate in our Speaker Bureau are able to position themselves with the community and engage with the public.
