Social Media and Text Messaging Policy

 

 

Social Media Guidelines

The purpose of this social media policy is to enable the Attorney Referral Service to post matters of public interest concerning Attorney Referral Service’s programs, activities, news stories and photos, and to enable members of the public to comment on those posts.

Persons who post on the Attorney Referral Service’s social media accounts may not:

  1. Post threats of physical violence towards any person or organization.
  2. Post content that violates the legal ownership interest of any other party, including, but not limited to infringement of a copyright, trademark or any registered mark.
  3. Post content containing any unsolicited commercial solicitation (i.e. spam, junk mail, chain letters, pyramid schemes or other promotional materials).
  4. Post content containing or linking to malicious software (malware) such as viruses, worms, trojans, rootkits, spyware, adware or any other unwanted software.
  5. Post content that is likely to incite imminent lawless action.

 

The Attorney Referral Service may remove content that violates these guidelines. The Attorney Referral Service is not responsible for, and neither endorses nor opposes, comments placed on its social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram) by visitors.

Any comments or other content posted or submitted to the Attorney Referral Service's social media accounts for posting, as well as information pertaining to the Attorney Referral Service's social media accounts' users and visitors, may be public records subject to disclosure pursuant to the California Public Records Act (Cal. Gov. Code § 6250 et seq.).

 

Text Messaging Policy

Effective Date: 11/1/24

At Attorney Referral Service, we value your privacy and are committed to providing a clear and respectful text messaging experience. This policy outlines our practices regarding text messages sent to users.

1. Consent

Before sending any text messages, we will obtain your explicit opt-in consent for receive SMS communications. This applies to all marketing, promotional, and informational messages. Implied consent is not sufficient.

2. Opt-Out Instructions

You may opt out of receiving text messages at any time easily by replying “STOP” to any text message you receive from us. We will honor all opt-out requests promptly.

3. Message Frequency

You may receive a limited number of text messages from us related to your interests, account updates, and promotions. 

4. Content of Messages

Our messages will be relevant to your interests and may include information about:

  • Updates and promotions
  • Event notifications
  • Important account information

We will never send messages related to prohibited content, including but not limited to:

  • Loan or mortgage advertisements
  • Debt collection efforts Political advertisements
  • Promotions for alcohol or tobacco products

6. Shared Data

We will not share your phone number with third parties without your consent, except as required by law. Your information will be protected in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

6. Compliance

Our text messaging practices comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and your continued use of our services after such changes indicates your acceptance of the new terms.
