Senior Legal Services Program

Senior citizens are one of the most vulnerable communities in California.

As we get older, we often face a variety of health care and financial security issues in need of our attention. These complicated issues can be overwhelming and stressful without proper senior legal services.

The Senior Legal Services program is here to help!

The SFVBA Attorney Referral Service is a proud sponsor of the Senior Legal Services program – A program dedicated to helping senior citizens find affordable senior legal services from experienced lawyers.

This program is available to senior citizens of all income levels and offers a wide range of legal services.

What Legal Issues Does the Program Cover?

The Senior Legal Services Program covers a wide range of legal issues. Please tell us about your legal issue when scheduling an appointment and we’ll match you with an attorney qualified to handle your legal issue.

• Problems with Health Care Benefits (Insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid)
• Social Security Issues
• Estate Planning
• Elder Abuse
• Long-Term Care
• Guardianship and Conservatorship
• And more

How the Program Works

• The program is staffed by highly qualified volunteer attorneys
• Appointments are held at three senior citizen centers throughout the San Fernando Valley
• Free 30-minute consultation
• Seniors may hire the interviewing lawyer for additional legal services if needed. In many cases, the lawyer may agree to a reduced fee depending on the legal matter
• ℹ Seniors are responsible for paying court filing fees, legal process costs, and other out-of-pocket expenses

Eligibility

• This program is available to senior citizens of all income levels (must be 60+ years old)
